How to make a PowerPoint presentation without boring in the attempt

An hour sitting in an audience watching as one after another exhibitor passes its 200 PowerPoint slides challenging. Presenters luckiest receive his first yawn and squeaking of seats within 20 minutes of exposure. Most do not go that far. In fact, many believe the PowerPoint banished from the corporate offices. At the end of the day, some claim, which can communicate with PowerPoint can also communicate without it. However, these presentations has become a habit so ingrained that it is almost impossible to remove. But all is not lost. According to an article in Fast Company, although unavoidable recourse to PowerPoint, implemented at least some tips to enhance presentations (or at least make it more tolerable).

1) Put a limit on the number of slides No wonder that a half-hour presentation contains some 30 or 40 transparencies. Too. Put yourself in public. What interests you remain seated half hour listening to someone read the text on the slides? In these cases, better send your presentation by email. For a half hour, 10 slides more than enough.

2) Do not overload of information transparency The text of the slides short and concise. Do not use complete sentences. Just bring some items that you will develop orally.

3) Make sure the text is readable A common mistake many presentations is to choose a font size too small. You will soon realize the error. Surely, a few minutes of exposure, you hear a murmur of those sitting in the background. "What does that say?" Asked one. "I do not see," answered the next door. To avoid these problems, the text size should never be smaller than 20 points.

4) Do not abuse the "special effects" of good powerpoint presentation Do not forget that PowerPoint is not an editing program developed for Hollywood special effects. Do not try to impress effects. Better avoid visual pollution and effects used when really necessary for exposure.

5) Did you know the letter B? Many people do not know. But pressing the letter B, the image turns black. This is great if it originates from a debate in the auditorium. You can turn off the picture to avoid distracting the projected image. Then, re-tighten the B exposure and resumes from where he left.

6) Do not use laser pointer Using a laser pointer is usually not a good idea. In most cases distracting to the audience. And, in more extreme cases, amplifies the shaking of your hand and makes it clear to everyone. In short, the laser is not at all recommended if you do not want the audience to know that you are nervous.
